About the Society

Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh, one of the greatest educationists, agriculturists and reformists founded this society in 1931 and started its work through Shri Shivaji Maratha High school. It aimed at educating and upbringing the poor rural students far away from the field of education. The Society succeeded tremendously in its aim today. We have educational institutes at cities as well as in interior areas, offering courses in Agriculture, Commerce, Arts Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Law, Management, Medicine, Physical Education, Science and Information Technology.

Shri. Shivaji Education Society is the biggest Education Society in the central India running Colleges and Training Centers, Schools and Kindergartens, Hostels, Numerous workshops, Extension Services, Printing press, Gymnasia, Health clubs and a host of other facilities totaling about 132 in the service of the Callosity at large, along with 150 bed Hospital and a Medical Research Centre.

Society's services were rewarded for its distinguished work and devotion in the year 1993-94. The Govt. of Maharashtra awarded Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Dalit Mitra Award" in the year 1999-2000, the Society was awarded Gadge Maharaj Memorial Award on 5 Sept. 2000,

The Govt. of Maharashtra declared Shri. Shivaji Education Society as the best administered Society in the State and bestowed upon it a cash reward of Rs. one lakh. Society's contribution in the field of education and cultural advancement has been duly recognised by the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time. Recently the Maharashtra Govt. has sanctioned a special Grant for the Society.
